Right or wrong Pelly might have been, but if people aren't allowed to express their opinions in the FEEDBACK forum, then this place is a pure joke.
Joe might have taken it to heart too much. ATi might have lied. The moon might actually be made out of cheese. It doesn't matter. Where the hell else are people going to provide FEEDBACK if the mods ignore direct quesitons, call members trolls for expressing their opinions, brush aside any criticism, delete "moved to" redirect threads to remove criticism from public view, and close threads to stop someone from seeking an answer?

No, it's Jow Dune Buggy. :p ;) :D
When you continue to post the same information...time and time again...regardless of the fact that you've made your point known...that constitutes action of some sort by the mods...
I believe everyone's point was made...regardless of how we all feel...this "situation" is old news.....( aka: no amount of complaining is going to make a difference )
Let's pick up the pieces of our broken lives and find a way to move on...
:)
This is the last time I am going to post about this...I suggest we all do the same...

Matthy made the reason perfectly clear:
He posted something from a reputible site, that's the end, give it a rest...no one here has any moral obligation to do jack squat! Go start your own site if you feel that way...We'll post to the contrary when ATi has a DDR2 card on the shelves...buh-bye
The "facts" or whatever have been dragged out over and over again. The same information has been posted repeatedly. Live and let die, folks.
If I see anything more from anyone on this, be it from pelly, Joe Cool, anyone the thread will be locked no questions asked. Dig?

Bigus Dickus you are truely amazing, you are just the best troll i've seen on the net, always full of arguments, and nice references ... ... oh please Go on !!! since i read your posts i'm not anymore bored during my long 3D renderings sessions.
Please keep on trolling , you are the Lord of entertainement
:D
The reason is clear: stop beating a dead horse, it was getting on a rather personal level, and that can be achieved through PM's.
EDIT: As to deleted 'moved to' redirect links, there is no such thing. You can either make a link to the new location or just move the thread without the user knowing where it landed. I do that on purpose to let the poster know that it belonged in other obvious forum. If it's hard to choose which forum it should be moved to, I leave a redirect link. Just because Joe Cool said "no one visits feedback forum" doesn't mean he can post wherever he wants to. Also blaming us mods for deleting his lovely threads isn't nice either since he could have checked other forums, or just PM us and ask nicely.

If there's one way to get on all the mods' bad sides it's cr@p like this. Word to the wise. Don't do it, simple as that.

glad to know I am of some entertainment value. :)
On a serious note, I think you guys need to seriously consider what the purpose of a feeback forum is. Do you really think it is appropriate for mods to end an argument by closing a thread in feedback? Are members supposed to just post their opinion, let the mods call them a troll, and then go on with life as usual? Most people have just a bit of pride.
Personally, I think the particular argument had gone on long enough. I saw no reason to post further in that thread. But closing it really disturbs me. And now there's talk of PM's instead of open discussion? What, the staff/mods can't be criticized on public? Oh... perhaps you meant Pelly should have PM's Joe that he is a troll, instead of calling him that in public? Yes... that must have been it.
Look, I'm a mod at a site, and I wouldn't dream of trampling on someone like that. If a thread is being beaten to death in an off (or on) topic forum, well... it would have to degenerate into pure flaming or spamming before I would close it. But a discussion in a feedback forum? As long as members have opinions, they are free to express them, whether I like them or not, or am tired of them or not. It's not my place to just say "this is old, I'm tired of hearing about it, shut up, end of story" and it really shouldn't be yours either.

A misunderstanding then. Glad to know that's how it works.

Here's the thing...there was no discussion at that point any more. Constructive criticism is fine (and welcome), but when everyone starts talking in cricles, bringing up the same points over and over again and the constructive nature goes out the window, it gets tiresome for everyone. Everyone who kept it going is equally at fault here, and there was no indication to myself or the mod who closed the thread that it was going to die. So Matthy shot the horse, so to speak.

Call it what you want. You run things the way you see fit, and so do we.

it wasn't even an argument anymore, he just said the same thing over and over and over. it's like the Energizer Bunny, it just keeps going, and going, and going.
repeating yourself 6x or more is rather pointless, no?

nVnews.net has been my homepage for quite a long time now, and I really appreciate all the effort the posters and mods put into the site on a daily basis. The forums are clean and mature, and the news is stuff I want to read.
Bad press are the things most people hear. The good stuff either doesn't get said or is left behind in the ensuing dust-storm.
The lot of us really do appreciate the time ya'll put into nV news. I wish more praise and congratulatory threads would pop up in the place of all these hate diatribes. Ahh well...at least you know you have one devoted fan :D

blah blah blah blah...
I've heard it all before, same story, different person...
I haven't locked or deleted a post in months here, and that one stepped over the line too far, same drivel just repeated over and over, and you want to defend that???
Sad...people need to get their asses off the puter and at least LOOK out the window once every so often...
If you don't like a site, guess what? There's the links bar, delete it...ppl that visit here are not mindless monkies, they can make up their own minds on what to believe, and for someone to DEMAND that nV News put something up on the front page is just LUDICROUS! Like I said, go start your own fanATIc site, and post anything you want, even post lies about nVIDIA, ya know what? I'm not gonna hound you until you change it, ya know why? Cuz I know you are wrong, and I just won't visit anymore...get over it!
I've been super passive lately here, but I can step that up if that's what ppl want, lemme know...

Feedback threads have a limited lifetime? My point was simply that if it wasn't dead, then that's because at least some people were still interested in the topic. So what if they demanded this or that, you didn't have to respond. Let them keep shouting day in day out, that's all I'm saying.

You essentially said that you'll post what you want, biased or not, true or not. As long as that is clear, no one has a problem. When someone posts some news in the guise of being nuetral, and then repeatedly insists in a discussion about that news that they were being neutral, that's where the problem arises.
Sure, you have every right to be biased. Just don't pretend not to be, and people won't get so out of whack about it. ;)
Why don't people just stop visiting enemy forums and stay where they are supposed to? That would definetly keep some of you out of trouble. Rage3D anyone ? :p

No really, I think that kind of behaviour comes from ATI fan sites. I don't see our guys go out and do that, nor do I hear people complaining.

Well, I don't post news here, so say what you want...just do it in a PM or email, coolness?
And if you want some unbiased news or reviews check out the site in my sig...

for the most part. every so often they seem to fall into chaos, stupid spamming or pointless threads pop up by the tens day by day, or fanboys invade from other sites which shall remain nameless ;)
at least it livens the place up every so often, and boy can it get hilarious. as long as they don't take it too far, but that usually ends up happening.
