I've seen that the newest version of SpeedFan detects and can control the fan on the Gigabyte 6800GT.

Does anyone know if Speedfan can detect/control any other manufactors vcard fans, such as BFG or any ATI brands?

Thanks!

Some days ago, i mailed the speedfan author about supporting ATI graphics cards. He said, he contacted both ATI & NVIDIA but ATI didn't response like NVIDIA did. Thats why it has no support for ATI cards.

If you have a non Gigabyte card you should try it.

Speedfan 4.19 doesn't detect my Leadtek 6800 Ultra.

Speedfan 4.19 doesn't work for my ASUS 6800 Ultra either.

It says Nvidia GeForce card found in the startup, but I don't get any temps...

Is this a problem with 4.19 only? And if so, can anyone point me to a earlier version?

Thx

Question: is the temp sensor connection on the vid card the small wire going to the HSF?

Or is that small wire powering the fan?

Speedfan detects my Sparkle GeForce 6800GT perfectly and shows both Remote (GPU) and Local (Ambient) temperature. It is a nice software, very nice software indeed.

I stoped using speedfan, it's highly unstable on my PC.

Speedfan does some problem on some motherboard because of their unique desing. Like ABIT AN7, it can't detect even CPU Temp. But other than that, it is nice.

I wish I could speed up the fan on my 6800 Ultra....

WOW!!! My speedfan shows 10C lower than what NVIDIA shows. NVIDIA shows rather high temp. abt 85C and above. Thats why i'm guessing speedfan is right because detecting temp. with thermal probe also shows identical temp. as speedfan.

So, is it picky and only displaying on some brands 6800 ??

It seems it works on Gigabyte & Sparkle but doesn't on ASUS, EVGA, ...

??

*edit*

Btw, when it starts up it says it has found a nvidia 6800 but, the temps don't show u nowhere. Btw, I have tried 4.16 & 4.18 too now, exact same result

I've been trying this software on my gigabyte 6800gt card for the past 2 days.................................and I hate it.

I decided to make some screenshots of this weird problem...

It finds it during startup, and links to whatever, but doesn't do anything at all with it it seems.

temp1 is Case, temp 2 is CPU, temp 3 is not used, and the other two are my harddisks

what I did was to play doom3 for two hours with Nvida on in the back ground and (snowman) as I exit the game you can see temp page open got 73c so if speedfan is right my pny 6800 GT at 400 Mhz is at 63c. Ican live with that

When I used speedfan I got the same temps as v-tuner 2.
Again speedfan doesn't like my PC and I don't like its amateur interface.

Gainward EXPERtool works nicely for that with my BFG 6800 GT. It has a small memory footprint too.

Ohh Yes expertool is an awesome software indeed, it works with my Gigabyte Borda but show GPU temps as board temps and Borads temps as GPU temps, also it has problem detecting the fan speed on the gigabyte, it shows that fan speed is arround 1800+ RPM while it is 3200+ RPM.

I've tried to get Speedfan to read my Leadtek 6800GT since version 4.17 I think, but the problem is known,

http://www.almico.com/foruminfo.php?id=317

Hopefully he fixes it for all 6x00 cards.

Good program, has someways to go but just the fact it reads the SMART table and hard drive temperatures is great. Once he gets all video cards working it will be great.

I tested manually with my thermal probe which i used for CPU temp. I keep it between PCB and the HSF and it is reported near what speedfan shows. It seems Speedfan is showing correct temperature.

After running ATI Tool for some time, i got around 88-93C in NVIDIA reading.....and 10C lower in speedfan...
