As probably many have already seen into the ocworkbench review are also compared FW 66.03 to FW 71.24

the 71.24 seems to improve games speed by 5-10% and especially 3Dmark05

Hmm give them to me. btw that card looks interesting, I wonder if this is possible with to 6800gt/U cores?

uhmm what card are they testing? A 6800u ?
Those driver do look fast :)

dohh its dual 6600GT :)
So i wonder if the speed increse is due to nvidia optimising the SLI stuff or if it's general game optimising.

" and the provided 71.24 drivers" Can't find them on Gigabytes website anywhere, do they have an FTP site ?

ps, looks like there is a 70.80 driver set as well,

cant see anything on Gigiabyte's FTP - nor on NVD, then again I doubt anyone has been to work at NVIDIA for the past 2 days so updates on the web-site's/FTP are unlikey.....

Still I reckon we will see a new driver in the new year, leaked or official.

it's one graphics card with two gpus on it...doubt the higher end cards will be able to do this because of the heat problem...two 6800 ultras on one pcb would be prescott hot

prescott hot
heh, nice analogy. ;)

I would love to see Nvidia Do what ATI do with their drivers, a driver cycle.
Would be nice if Nvidia push out a driver every month.

I would love to get my hands on those drivers. :D

I would certainly like to see more frequent driver releases from Nvidia, but the ATI monthly releases is just a gimmick - especially when ATI release Hotfixes/Betas either when the monthly release is bugged or they need a quick performance fix (ie 4.12 Beta for HL2 - certainly helped my Mobility 9800).

My priorities for drivers are:

1) Stability.
2) Bug fixes.
3) Performance.
4) New Features.
...)
...)
99) Meets an arbitrary schedule.

So my ideal would be more frequent releases than Nvidias current, but only if it actually provides something useful.

My guess is both of these driver sets are just optimized more for the dual setup, probably wouldnt make much difference with a single setup as much as i'd like to think otherwise :)

I say your wrong - we'll have to wait and see

I wonder if they have PureVideo. Does any driver other than 67.03 have PureVideo?

PureVideo ? oh yeah, i'm over that now, back to testing leaked drivers..heh, that's what i was looking foward to most of all with PureVideo was a new driver with some performance boost but it turned out to be boring old 67.03..bugger!

Give it a week and they will be leaked. I wonder if they are faster then the 71.20's..

Do any of the existing 7x.xx drivers support SLI ?(70.90, 70.41, 71.20)

Superfly

I believe it was removed from the control panel for 71.20, could'nt care less really though.

I'll not be going SLI for some time yet - perhaps 2x GeForce 7800GT's :-) in a few years....
