Well, i got a new athlon 64 3000 DTR, and its nice. one thing troubles me, I see in Everest that it runs at 50 C, but when i rebott and look in the bios, it is at 35. i have cool and quiet enabled and all that, and i have seen around the web that with this proc, windows will report the wrong temp. i just need a warm fuzzy feeling from the knowledge base here before i can sleep easy at night.

Usualy the temperature in BIOS is the correct one. And for 3000+ model it really usually is somwhere around 35-40.

SpeedFan (http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php) is one of the best apps out there to monitor your temps from windows. Also make sure you're using the latest vers of the bios for yer K8T.

You got the Neo2 man. The temps it's reporting are about as accurate as your weekly horoscope. :D
As long it's primestable i wouldn't even look at the temperature with this board.

well, i opened up my case, and i fugured that if my cpu was running that warm then if i touch the heatsink then my flesh should bond instantly to the metal. well, it feels like room temprature. so, toss one up to windows not liking to tell the truth

well, after a ton of research.. it turns out that i have no idea how to enable cool and quiet with this processor. it actually does run warm, and i have googled, myself out trying to either enable cool and quiet, or Powernow, since this is a DTR chip. if anyone has anyideas, i am all ears
