I got the opertunity to listen to the funeral at Ft. Lewis army base on the radio today. They wer honouring members of the Ft. Lewis Stryker Brigade who died in that mess hall blast. It was very moving and the local CONSERVATIVE radio station covered the whole ceremony.

The people who say these are freedom fighters are so wrong and have to have blind hatred towards the US and our military to think this. Living near Ft. Lews I hear from so many soldiers who get back from Iraq who say that the people are threatened every day by these terrorists and in many cases the terrorists kill the average Iraqi who will not co-operate with them. Yet you liberals still call them freedom fighters. I just don't understand it.

There is so much right going on in Iraq that the media WONT cover because of their hatred for the president. This is not right. Every soldier I have talked to says they get depressed when they come home when they listen to the media and they can't wait to get back to be with their brothers and help the country out. They see the truth of what is going on over there and being there is so much encouraging to them than being home and reading about what they have been doing. I say shame on the US media for being anti-American and anti-military. In wars past this would not have happened. We used to have a media that would back this country. Now we have a media that backs their special intrests. I for one am glad I read my news and do not watch TV for my news.

I think part of the problem is that all the media really keeps a tally of, is the number of americans and iraqi officials killed in these attacks. It gives the impression to the terrorists that going to iraq and killing our troops is easy. We need to make more of a story of how many of THEM we have killed and then they will think twice about launching attacks like these. If I was in charge I would take the head of every terrorist and stick it on a pike alongside the most busy road that leads into bagdad. Eventually you would have thousands of heads on sticks, lining the road for miles. Now if you were a young terrorist driving into bagdad and saw so many of your buddies heads on the way in, wouldn't you think twice about risking your own neck?

True Dave, they don't keep a tally of how many terrorists are killed. They will once in a while say 10 "insurgents" died in such and such battle and if you will notice the kill to death ratio is so lop-sided.
