I agree with your conclusion but I was relieved when I finished it. I also agree with the annoyance part although I lucked out and apparently did not experience the sound bug to the extent you did.

nice review... didn't personally have the sound bug but generally I did like the variety of game play options afforded and the vista's in the game were certainly a joy...
