Anaheim Angels change name To Boost Marketing

Just off the press, Anaheim Angles officially name to The Los Angeles Angles of Anaheim. A strategy to help boost marketing since it seems any team with the Term Los Angeles must mean money money $$ I live in the Anaheim area, well about 1/2 hour away, and it disappoints me to hear of such news, even though they are a pretty sucky team. Just seems like the Angels are betraying their fans in an effort to gain marketing gross :p

The City of Anaheim is going to sue to have the name remain The Anaheim Angels, which it should be.

This is stupid. Wern't they origianlly called the California Angels then they were change to Anaheim Angels because the city of Anaheim complained? I think I may be right but you locals can straighten me out.

No you have a point; They were originally California Angels, and their logo was an 'A' with a Halo on top of it with the state of California in the background. Then They changed their name to Anaheim Angels with a new logo of an 'A" and wings around it. Now they have changed their name to L.A. Angels of Anaheim and the original 'A' with a Halo around it is back, but with no california state in the background. (Well it's been back for awhile)

To me, the Angels franchise just don't know what they want. The only good thing they've done in the past 20 years is help produce the movie "Angels in the Outfield" :D

Back? The Raiders are back where they came from. ;) For years after they moved down to L.A. I keep calling them Oakland out of habbit. I hate the Raiders (being a life long Seahwaks fan) but I am glad they are back in Oakland.

BTW both Candle Stick park and the Colliseum are dumps, well the Stick isn't any more but man I was well under impressed with both of them. The only stadium that was worse than them was the Barn at Stanford.

wHEN THAT TEAM WAS ORIGINALLY FORMED IT WAS NAMED THE lOS aNGELES aNGELS. tHEY changed it to the California Angels upon moving to Anaheim. If you ask me, the owner should be able to call them the Constantinople Copouts if he wants, he paid +/-400 mil for the team.

The Angels were originally named after the City of Los Angeles, which means "city of the angels". After 5 years, the Angels moved to Aneheim and became the "California Angels", in part because Anaheim was still a rural community with nothing but fruit tree groves and some pesky theme park that wasn't doing well. I wonder what ever happenned to that theme park. wo0t wo0t go Mickey LOL :D
