Holy Crap! Your PC Case is 81C? I thought having mine at 40C during hot days was bad...

The card doesn't seem too bad, watch it during OCing and playing other games, EQ2 isn't very stressful on the GPU as it is on RAM/CPU.

I would seriosly look into getting better airflow in your case though...

Seems to me that these are good temps.
On my Gigabyte heat pipe edition I get 59 idle and 69 after playing Americas Army and Half life 2 for 2 hours.
P.S. The card is not overclocked.
P.S. I should have received the NV 5 3 days ago but the stupid Tax men in the Airport said that this is an electronic device and I should pay tax. !!!!!!!!
WTF they are so stupid that they thought it is an electronic device, I'm right now trying to talk to them some logic, the NV5 cost 24 dollars and that's waaaaaay below the tax boundary I should pay for an electronic device, beside this is not an electronic device.........Stupid people are always in my path.

P.S. If you are planning for a vacation some time in the middle east, don't come to this ****ty country, Local people are very stupid and the government always seeks to rob you.

What were your temps with the stock cooling?

My card runs at 49 idle and around 60 w/ load. That's with both the stock and NV5 cooling. The NV5 is way quieter, which puts it in the lead for me.

umm, what card do you have? That will make a big difference. My 6800 Ultra idles at 53 core 40 ambient with the core going up to 78 ish under a full load. This is a couple of degrees lower than my temps before the NV-5.

The heatsink for the 6800U is better than the nv-5. The nv-5 is more efficient for 6800GT and lower.

I have a Gainward 6800GT GS clocked at 400/1100.

I believe Gainward uses the same stock heatsinks for both their GT and U cards. While their stock heatsink arrangement is better than the NV5's, I believe the NV5's fan makes the cooling come out equal. I've been considering trying to modify an NV5 to work with the stock heatsinks.

salamander!! when (if;)) you get your nv5 please let me know how the installation goes. you probably will not get your true temps for a few days as it takes a couple of days for your ceramique(assume that is what you are using) to 'cure'.
anyway very interested in your results.
