I have an Audigy2 ZS and just reformatted my PC. I would like the absolute newest WHQL drivers for it, and the www.soundblaster.com site is higly confusing. I see like 3 listings and some require previous versions and stuff.

Now recently I saw on www.warp2search.net that somebody found new drivers that were WHQL, but I do not see them on Creative's site. Why is it so hard to find the newest compilation WHQL driver and easily install it instead of downloading multiple pieces and updating them and stuff?

Basically, where are the newest officials that are a single install set and easily understandable?

You could always use the kX Project drivers (http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/index.php?skip=1) if you can't find the original disk. AFAIK, you can still install Creative's drivers, just not important stuff like AudioHQ.

These are the newest drivers and include all the hotfixes AFAIK.

You may want some additional software e.g. certain things like MediaSource. But this is the basic driver and include the most important stuff... EAX support, Speaker Setup, THX Setup, Surround Mixer (volume Control).

Drivers List: If you look closely at the details of the drivers on that list, you'll see that the 3rd driver (1.84.50) "combines the features and fixes of the two previous updates" and adds some new stuff as well. The 4th driver (1.84.55) is an update. So download and install 1.84.50, then 1.84.55, and ignore the others, since they're included in 1.84.50.

Applications List: After you install the newest drivers, you'll need these updates if you use the applications in question: MediaSource 2.02.06, Media Source CD burner plugin, EAX Console, THX Console, and DTS Neo6. If your CD/DVD drive is new and not recognized by MediaSource, you'll also need the CD burner drive update. The others in the list are useless unless you have a NOMAD or Creative MP3 Player.

Arent those more geared towards musicians?
not as good for gaming as the Creative drivers, but better for working with music, lower latancy and such..
limited or no EAX support..
Thought I read a bit on that, not sure tho.

Nah - station-drivers has the absolute latest WHQL driver, although its not "Official"

I personally use the new Audigy 4 driver on my Audigy 2, It works a treat and is also WHQL.

linkage:

Audigy 4 driver: http://www.station-drivers.com/telechargement/creative/%20audigy%205.12.10.1042.exe

Audigy 2 driver: http://www.station-drivers.com/telechargement/creative/audigy2%205.12.05.522%20whql.exe

I have used both of the above and can recommend them both as solid and stable.
