I had to tell sombody!!! I installed the 70.20 Drivers and decided to play with some Overclocking. I got this puppy to 599/1.2 and only 41c after 2 hours of UT2k4 IGCTF. Problem is nothing I do will let me get that extra 1Mhz. Ohh well. anybody else getting OC's like this?

Throw on some Arctic Silver 5 :) Maybe that will get you an extra 1mhz... anyways, awesome OC.

Anyone know if volt modding these cards has bad results? I know the GT's were very volt mod friendly.

I think the 6600GTs are already at 1.4v. I'd have to think that any higher than that would not be good news for your card's lifespan.

The risk of killing your card by volt modding for 1MHz isn't worth it. Although, 600MHz does sound mighty sexy...

Does it freeze or show artifacts?

Try lowering your memory below stock speeds. My fx5900 for example reached 483/950 but it could also do 510/914.

Actualy I just might try lowering the ram. and last night I was using the Nvidia control pannel. I might use Riva tuner instead. but for now I'm content at 599 I mean come on thats basickl;y 600

Man I wouldn't be comfortable running it right on the edge like that... That has got to be real hard on it. Seriously, if you can't get 1 single MHz further I'd back it down from 599.

I think you reached the limit of your card. I don't think you can go higher with Nitrogen on it.....

Hey, that core has to hit a point where it can't go higher, sooner or later, and it isn't a cpu either.

BTW, I reached that with my card. I got over 1250 with my core downclocked, so I know I will be able to push it high without any Hardware limitations once I get good cooling. I prefer to leave it at my current clocks until the AS6 or the vf700 come out. OOOOOH, I can't wait. I will have better performance than a 6800 vanilla for 170$ less. YUM> :rolleyes:

Thanks for all the comments guys. But it was the Nvidia test button that wouldnt let me run at 600 so I opened Riva Tuner and used its overclocking options and I am now running at 600/1.2 to all those who sugjested AS5 It's allredy on there. and XP_Gun it's allredy watter cooled. Max temp after 3 hours of gameing was 43c as read by RivaTuner There have been no artifacts or coruption at all but i dont benchmark any more and the only games I have played are UT2k4, AA, and Colin McRae Rally 2005. Mabey Tonight I will Install some DooM 3, and mabey just mabey I will Install HL2. :)

Scores so far
3DMark01 = 16024
3DMark03 = 8631
3DMark05 = 3827
Aquamark = 60,087

03 and 05 would not run at 2.3 on my CPU so those are at 2.2
