Each piece of hardware you listed will be a bottleneck. Having said that, I don't know what video card you're currently running but a 6600gt will most likely provide at least somewhat better performance. In your case though, it would be like putting a jet engine into a '73 Chevy. Good luck!

My Dads computer is running a GFFX 5900XT with a 1.4 ghz AXP palomino in a K7T266 Pro2 RU mobo with 768 megs DDR ram. I know computer is bottlenecking the vid card but it still works great :)

The 6600GT should work ok in your system (not sure about your power supply tho), but as flawedexistence said you'd see the cards full potential with a much faster system.

The Leadtek 6600GT gets good reviews, but from what I can tell there is little variation in performance between different 6600GT agp cards.

Nah, I think a 6800GT would be like a jet engine. The performance of the 6600GT is likened to that a 9800pro, which is almost 2 years old. His computer was probably pretty fast back then and a 9800pro would probably have been recommended as a good choice.

I agree the psu may be a concern although if it is of good quality and gives clean power to the rails you should have no problems running the 6600GT.
