Yes, that thread was awesome. It really helped me rethink the way I go about building computer systems. My next system will be all price/performance!

That thread saved me $75 from my memory upgrade. Was able to roll the money into anime DVDs and medical expenses (damn sinus infection).

ugh...sinus infections are teh suck and it saved me about $80 (when I get my NewEgg GC and Best Buy rebate that is...) for the memory I'm gonna buy.

I'm running a mis-matched pair of 512 mb PC3200 (One is Samsung 2.5-4-4-8 and the other is Hynix 2.5-3-3-8) on 2-2-2-5 timings and I don't have any problems.

System is an A64 S939 3200+ on an Asus A8V Deluxe.

Save your money, read that post, and save even more money!

Great deal on RAM today:

http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproductdesc.asp?description=20-145-440&DEPA=0

You can't beat Corsairs warranty and RMA process either.

I WANT THAT MEMORY! My dad RMAed my Kingston 512MB stick for a refund (it was a Christmas present) and I'm getting the value back in a NewEgg GC and I was going to use it to fund a purchase for this exact memory.

Sigh. They got it yesterday, but it takes another 2 or 3 days for them to come to their decision or whatever. Fooking crap, if you ask me. I want my money back. Get the memory, give me back my money. I don't have to wait 3 days for a return at Best Buy.

I was thinking of buying it just for the hell of it. I mean, it is a GREAT deal.

The sale is only $6 so it isn't THAT big of a deal if I can't get it today

try this
he CMX512-3200C2 is a 512 MByte, dual bank, ultra-performance DDR SDRAM DIMM screened specifically for gaming applications. This part has been selected by our Compatibility Lab for its outstanding performance in motherboards commonly used in gaming rigs. This memory has been verified to operate at 200MHz (2-3-3, 1T command rate) and 166 MHz (2-2-2, 1T command rate). Generally, one 512 MByte module will outperform two 256 MByte modules in a given motherboard. Side-by-side comparison indicates that this is one of the fastest
