Good stuff Clay ;)

I just love the stealthy...streamline design of the Razers...something I miss when using the MX700.

I also very much do like the on the fly sensitivty change function. Especially when i was playing TW2004 ;)

Razer rocks

Thanks Kal. Yeah the streamline feel of them takes a bit getting used to like I said in the review but I did get used to it and really felt comfortable with it after an hour or so. The contoured buttons and rubberized surface was even better than I thought it would be. It's just a really great mouse and the effect it has on accuracy in games was easily noticeable to me.

Nice Review Clay :) That looks like a sweet mouse. I don't know if I could handle the cord though. I have been using the MX700 and MX1000 for too long.

Nice review! I like my MX700 but have been thinking about going to MX510 tailed mouse. Now, I am going to re-think and add the Razor to my short list. :D

Nothing short of excellent review Clay !
with such review quality , covering & honesty i think i wont need to check other sites anymore :p

i liked the on-fly sensitivity feature ! yep very cool when playing different games one after another .
the mouse design looks a bit uncomfy -as you mentioned- i still like the MX1000 desgin & think its the best yet .
& i dont think i'll go for wired mice at the time being .. since they gave me a headache by packing more wires on the desk & more importantly when playing games the wire keeps hitting my stereo speakers & makes the movment very uncomfy in some situations .

BTW how come its mentioned in the features that the Razor Dimondback has :
Frame rate over 6400 frames per second (5.8 megapixels per second)
& in the other comparsion with the MX510 the data-prcessing rate for the RDB was 6.4MP/s ??

Nice! That mouse looks awesome! I'm gonna wait to see what Logitech next wired mouse is like... its gonna have on the fly sensititvity as well :)

Did you ever feel as if on the fly sensitivity just gave you one more thing to worry about while fragging away?

nice review, they must have a bargain sale on that hologram looking cardboard. My MX 1000 came with the same backing. :balloon:

Nice review. The whitepaper specs about how Windows XP handles USB was quite interesting. I wonder if they've notified Microsoft about it.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

@SH64: Good catch, looks like two of my sources have conflicting information. I'll pull that 510 comparison section until I can confirm that information or not. The 5.8 megapixels per second on page one is from Razer's actual whitepaper so I'm assuming that chart on page 4 is incorrect.

nice stuff man...

appreciate all the info wrt USB connections and the differences

I loved my boomslang and the rubberised side buttons... would probably have to go the same route with this one too (using textured tapes like you suggest)

one idea would be using raquet grip tape :D

Thanks, I apprecite the responses (good or bad).

Yeah, raquet tape is useful stuff. I rigged our pushmower handle with some of that just because I was bored one day. :D

Excellent review! I'm glad to see nV News branching out to some other areas other than NVIDIA related products.

Very good review indeed. But, I had a Sniper Boomslang 2100 last year and never could get used to the feel of it. I eventually sold it on Ebay.
I don't think I will ever buy a Razer mouse again. (I had the original Razer Boomslang and didn't like it either).
They would be far better if they made them more ergonomic, instead of ambidextrious like you said.

Thanks. Yep, mouse "feel" is very personal indeed. I was skeptical at first because I like my MX700 and MX1000 "feel" so much. They're still more comfortable to me but not drastically. The symmetry of the Razer wasn't what bothered me so much as was the difference in height. I like how the Logitech mice fill out my hand more while the Razer's lower profile doesn't offer that.

For gaming, though, the concave, contoured, rubberized mouse button goodness outweighed everything else.

I'd recommend anyone that is thinking about buying any mouse to first take one for a test drive with a store sample somewhere if possible.

I like my Mx510. I increased the polling rate to 500hz and it runs flawlessly which is only 2ms of lag.

Only thing i wish it had that the Dimondback has is the 1600dpi. When you have mouseware at full sensitivity and you need more sens. in games at high res then you need to result to leting the game increase the mouse sensitivity which makes it feel jerky. That is 1 thing i missed from my 2000 dpi Boomslang.

If Logitech or Razor make a 2000dpi then Ill defintnly get that. Double the DPi from what I already have is great but, give it some more time and that 2k dpi will hit the opticals in no time. :afro:

I bought those mouse because I was in a long need of an upgrade. My old mouse is a Logitech. http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/downloads/software/US/EN,CRID=1792,contentid=5266

Yeah.... Its OLD! lol

I really enjoy the Razer mouse. I tried the MX510, 700, and 1000 and my hand got tired after 2 hours or so of using the computer. So I stayed away from all mice that were that shap and finally razer released an awsome mouse to match my old one. I know a lot of people are like me and don't like the MX series mouse. If so go out and buy this Razer mouse!!!

If you have an EB Games near you, check there. A couple stores I've been in close to home have had it in stock.
