I have taken the liberty to create my own littl' bencher:
it's called: g2_bench
it's primary goal is to test & stress your CPU and memorysubsystem.. especially the memory subsystem.. more bandwith with good latencies does the score good.. it's actually based on my old G2 GUI graphics subsystem which I programmed 4 years ago.. It's seems this library scales fantasticly with the newer systems..
You can fetch it here (http://www.phibiansoft.net/files/g2_bench.zip)
my score:
Test #1 score: 580 fps
Test #2 score: 332 fps
Test #3 score: 382 fps
Test #4 score: 741 fps
Test #5 score: 34042 fps
This system scores a g-mark score of: 2362
be sure to run the runbench.bat file or you will not see your results.
My pentium 3 score is: (650Mhz, 100Mhz 384MB mem)
Test #1 score: 82 fps
Test #2 score: 59 fps
Test #3 score: 53 fps
Test #4 score: 81 fps
Test #5 score: 8978 fps
This system scores a g-mark score of: 404
My brothers XP2600+ score is:
Test #1 score: 336 fps
Test #2 score: 252 fps
Test #3 score: 194 fps
Test #4 score: 410 fps
Test #5 score: 28469 fps
This system scores a g-mark score of: 1557
Sys in sig. 30 processes running (my normals)
#1 - 448
#2 - 298
#3 - 270
#4 - 599
#5 - 34042 (same as yours? weird)
1996 total score

Does AA/AF have any impact ? did you write this test your self ?

no.. AA/AF does not have any impact since it purely benches the CPU and it's memorysubsystem..
Yes I have written it myself.. It uses my 4 years old 2D graphicslibrary. coded in FreePascal.
after finetuning some memory settings.. and not running windows media player in the background I scored:
Test #1 score: 665 fps
Test #2 score: 379 fps
Test #3 score: 440 fps
Test #4 score: 848 fps
Test #5 score: 39408 fps
This system scores a g-mark score of: 2713
I think I can't get it faster right now.
I wonder how I managed to pull of the exact same #5 as you in your first test Night? What does #5 do?

the tests:
Test #1.. bitmap rescaling using NEAREST sampling.. (fully software)
Test #2.. bitmap rescaling using LINEAR sampling.. (also fully software)
Test #3.. fills to the memory
Test #4.. Translucency rendering 640x480 bitmap on a 1024x768 framebuffer (50%)
Test #5.. Renders 8000 texts into the framebuffer using a bitmap font.
cool part of it is that different brand of CPU results in completely different rates:
example: (Xp2600+ vs P4 2.4Ghz/533)
AthlonXP 2600+@stock, 1024MB DDR400@DDR333
--------------
Test #1 score: 336 fps
Test #2 score: 252 fps
Test #3 score: 194 fps
Test #4 score: 410 fps
Test #5 score: 28469 fps
This system scores a g-mark score of: 1557
Intel Pentium IV 2.4Ghz @ 2.4Ghz, 1024MB DDR333
--------------
Test #1 score: 421 fps
Test #2 score: 128 fps
Test #3 score: 248 fps
Test #4 score: 505 fps
Test #5 score: 14209 fps (p4 does very bad compared to an Athlon in this test)
This system scores a g-mark score of: 1335
it seems the P4 scores good in the bad-ass memory filling department and the Athlon system scores extremely well in the fast-randomly into the memory accesses.
scores designated in red are slower compared to the rival. green is faster. this makes me wonder how a Pentium IV 3.2Ghz/800 will score? and prescott vs Northwood (512kB/1M cache). even ClawHammer with 1M cache vs NewCastle/Winchester with 512kB cache..
I am wondering how much influence cache has on the score.
Hmm...clock for clock, it looks like Athlons smoke the P4s. Mine @ 2.2 kills the P4 you referenced. Then again, I also have some great memory.
Ill post my 3500 Winchester when it gets here this week. If it ever does.
*ANXIOUS*
There you go .. P4:3.0GHz(Northwood) / 800FSB /1 GB DDR400 :
Test #1 score: 849 fps
Test #2 score: 186 fps
Test #3 score: 474 fps
Test #4 score: 1012 fps
Test #5 score: 20512 fps
This system scores a g-mark score of: 2428

From my 3 days old P4 Prescott 3GHz in the remainings of my old PC:
Test #1 score: 628 fps
Test #2 score: 410 fps
Test #3 score: 364 fps
Test #4 score: 735 fps
Test #5 score: 25641 fps
This system scores a g-mark score of: 2375

interesting.. especially the benches between the P4 3.0Ghz's (Northwood vs Prescott). the overall score is almost the same. but look @ the score of test #2 the prescott really owns the Northwood in this test. but the northy is overall faster in the remaining test except for test #5.

ok if I run your benchmark what is it going to show cpu or gpu or both and how they work together?

it's a purely CPU/memory benchmark.. gfx card is not involved.

Glad I could be the first to hit over 3K. Ill shoot for over 3.5K when I get home. Ill do a little tweaking on the system.

As you can see.. memory does a lot for this bench.. since I am running 230x11 with a 3:2 mem divider (effective DDR360, my mem doesn't like one Mhz above spec) and I scored just 27xx
