Does that mean CPU doesn't impact Far Cry?
Try the PC Games Hardware Demo with/without your CPU overclock, i think you'll find that demo will respond better to your overclock :)
ps, i think the general 'rule of thumb' with games these days is that indoor areas are more graphics limited and outdoor areas are more CPU limited, i've read this applies to HL2.
