Is there a list of SM3.0 enabled games? I have done a search and there does not seem to be one posted here.
I would have thought a 'sticky' would have been created by now for quick reference !
I just want to know if there are any games that really show what my 6800GT can do

2005 will be the year for Sm3.0 games..

And the year of upgrading videocards to play them :p

The NV40 does great with PS2.0, buts lets face it, we're not gonna be able to crank the details w/ any fully supported PS3.0 game.

You know what's funny; every time I upgrade my system to play new and upcoming games, I discover that it still isn't fast enough to crank the details all the way but ends up being a powerhouse for games that are 1-2 years old.

this is a good example of why I jumped ship recently....sm3.0 is all hype, even when games do start using it, the nv40 is gonna choke like it did with hdr.fc. I'm more concerned with what i'm enjoying now and that's HL2 and every frickin mod in development for it. :D Come time for newer games, it will be time for a new mobo w/ pci-e as well....so I'm holding off as long as I can.

Isn't that the truth? That's why I'm not going to go for an all-out upgrade ever again. I'll just keep doing incremental things - mobo here, video card there, RAM elsewhere. Though my current machine is doing me quite well. I personally see no need to upgrade to PCI-E/SLI at the moment though I'm sure that will change later in the year when I'm making more money at my current job or find a new one.

People overestimate SM3 in my opinion. As far as I heard it's just a SM2 optimization, feature wise they should be rather similar. Diference being that in SM3 shaders are simpler to code.
Meaning that quality wise they should look pretty similar, only SM3 code running with SM3 compliant hardware will (should have) more performance.

I never heard of OGL2.0 again. What happened to that?

Anyone correct me if I'm wrong but this was the info I got sometime ago while catching up on the subject.

erm what u heard and what it is totally different. SM3 is an evolution from SM2.0 to include features that wasn't included in SM2.0 :D

Use of SM3.0 in Far Cry has produced results not earth shattering but results non the less.

Wasn't OpneGL 2.0 also going to include a shading language and also dynamic branching like DX9's SM 3.0?
