I've experienced the slight 2d temp increase with the 71.40-71.50 drivers and I'm wondering if it is good or bad.
Heat is the enemy of all computer components, but running at a more consistent temperature may be better than running as a lower temp and then rocketing to a much higher temp when gaming.
Also, the fan seems to be running a bit slower and quieter in 2d mode which may add life to the fan.
