Steam and phantom windows in the taskbar

Dudes!

I have at least 1 phantom window on my taskbar when I start Steam and clicking on doesn't do anything, getting on my nerves. Also when downloading HL2 I get massive CPU spikes every now and then. Not too impressed with this behemoth of a program ...
