I have had 3 6800 ultra cards (2 bfg, 1 EVGA), and both have wierd flickering lines on the screen. The card boots up fine, but once it's in windows it has problems with flickering little lines and the more demanding the program the worse it gets. All these cards worked flawless in my Soyo Dragon Plus motherboard. Is there a bios setting that would help fix this problem with the A8V?

My system
A8V Deluxe
Athlon 64 3500+ 90 nm
EVGA 6800 Ultra 256 MB
Crossair 1 GB Ram
WD Raptor 10,000 RPM

Those posts really don't apply to what I am Experiencing. I don't even have and overclocked video card and don't want to overclock. I get video on my computer but it's not working properly. Plus Asus has horrible customer support I have tried to contact them for a week and a half with no luck. They just say we will research the problem and get back to you.

its sounds like an AGP latency issue. Does your bios have such a setting>?

ya it has it PCI Latency Timer and it set to 64 currently. EVGA said to set it as high as it goes which is 248. I did that and still had the same problem. Im currently trying to talk to asus, Been on hold for an hour and a half!!!!!! And they dont answer emails either.

im sorry i misled you not AGP latency, but rather AGP drive strengths. I had the same problem with a certain bios for my mobo but when resetting to the values from earlier bios settings i had no issues. Later with newer bioses the issues were resolved. So i recommend a newer mobo bios, or even older? or looking for the AGP drive strength setting.

when i had the problem it would set 2 agp drive strength values to 00 instead of the 02 they were before. simply setting them back to 02 made everything fine

try disable fast write and set your AGP aperture size to 256 MB try reinstalling drivers. hope that helps:cool:
