I'm considering buying a MSI 6600GT (AGP), but does anybody know if the Albatron or Apollo models are any good? I also have been wondering about the memory timings on each of the cards. I heard they run at 2.0 ns, but I also heard they should be running at 1.6 ns or something like that.
Gainward produces a 6600GT card with 1.6ns RAM (the GLH version) and I hear the XFX version may have used it in the past (but no longer). I haven't seen any cards with 1.6ns RAM available in the USA, though.
One thing about 6600GT cards, is it seems that not all of them support the thermal diode. If that's an important feature to you, be careful. -- http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/nvidia_geforce_6600_gt_agp_roundup/page19.asp

2.0 is normal. (up for the rated 1000mhz ddr)
1.6ns is available on old version xfx 6600gt's, gainward's GLH 6600gt and asus extreme 6600gt... it is rated up to 1200mhz DDR

I have a PCIx Albatron 6600GT and I think it's great.I can play every game on maximum detail(including Doom3 and HL2,and I could have run Far Cry on maximum if I had more than 512MB system Ram) and I think you will be very pleased if you buy it,as long as you don't expect it to run everything at 1600x1200 with 16xAA and AF.
i got a galaxy it comes @ 525/1050
