Anyone know how I could repair a WMP8 installation? I've somehow lost the ability to run any video file in full screen. I don't want to reinstall WinXP, or install the horribly bugged WMP9.
Thanks in advance.

try looking for it on the Microsoft site...
The only thing available is WMP 7.1 or the beta WMP 9. For some reason M$ has decided that the only way to install WMP8 is thru a clean install of WinXP. There's not even an option to add/remove/repair the installation.
Ive been using WMP9 beta for a good month+ now, and havent had one problem with it at all. I use it for all my music and small video clips.

Had a big problem that scared the piss out of me with WMP9 when I first installed it (logging in the first time afterwards took about 5 minutes and 4 error messages related to WMP9 popped up as I did so), but it's been OK since.
Well, I figured out a work around. It seems that M$ has included both WMP 6.4 and 8.0 in XP. For some reason, the option to go full screen is not available in 8.0 on some files, but is on 6.4. So any file I was having problems with, I've just been using 6.4 and it's working fine.
So if anyone else is having problems with WMP 8, just use 6.4. It's located in ..\Program Files\Windows Media Player\mplayer2.exe.

It's included with 7.x too, it handles the movies embedded in webpages and such, like gamespot live, etc.
