How much is your provider a month?
Still not 1.3Mb/sec. :p
I managed to hit 1.6Mb/sec for the first 2 seconds of a download last night. :p
Beat 1.6Mb and then you have owned me. :p

You didn't actually hit 1.6, that's just because it downloaded that much before you decided on a location to save it ;)

I am on 56K, so explain this.
BTW, it's true, IE starts to download while you choose your file location, and just after that you get a high transfer rate because while you were choosing a folder the file was being already downloaded.
EWWWW, my former 28.8kbps modem can go faster than that. :p ;) :D

Sometimes for the first few secs from that server I can get 2000+KB/sec, but only for a little bit then it backs off. I'll try to get a screenie when I get home.
$30USD a month for me. KILER what do you pay? ;)
Holy S*#@! people......who do you use for a provider???
I'm stuck with AT&T here......sometimes its good....most of the time, its slow....

Optimum Online, by my cable company Cablevision. They got an A+ from PC Mag, so that's cool.
Its $40 if you're not using the company's cable family package or higher but since we've always had that its only $30.
I this is the best I could do today, just a peak, not a constant speed.

And this is DAP so you can throw that IE thing out the window. ;)

We get ours thru the local cable company, and it's good when everything is working. But a few weeks ago, one piece of equipment, ONE PIECE, failed and it took their entire network down. We're also supposed to get 1.5mbps down but we usually only get around 400-600kbps down. Our upload, however, is usually at around a megabit or so.
Dont know where i place but its up there...
