Service Pack 1 is required for USB 2.0 to function correctly IIRC
BTW, nice system

Yes, Service Pack I is required for USB 2.0

However back in the day for the first mobo's to have USB 2.0 there was a driver hack that sometimes worked. However now a days they assume you have SP1 witch is a really nice service pack, i recomend it at least. SP2 is the one that people eahter live with or hate.

The motherboard drivers won't have USB 2.0 drivers for Windows XP, those are part of the service pack only.

Go into device manager and they should be there under 'other devices' or 'unknown devices'. Remove them and reboot and they should setup and work.

(In case you aren't sure how to get to device manager, right click the 'my computer' icon and click 'manage' and then click on device manager.)
