I have relatively the same PC config, and I am scoring much higher- will check the numbers when I get home, but I thought it was near 6000 (maybe 5500).

What drivers are you using?

Last time I checked (66.81) my stock 6800GT did around 4500.
6000 seems very, very high for a GT.

As u can see I have a much lower PC specs than you, yet with my overclocked GT and FW 71.40 I got 5551 in 3D Mark 2005.
Your score seems a little on the low side, espicialy with such nice fat ass PC.

I also have brutallly low scores with my setup. Getting around 5300 with my rig and 67.03 drivers. Did a fresh reformat and everything. Any reason for this?

I am surprised to see your score are a bit low on Athlon 64 3500+, I got score of 4865 3D Mark on the same videocard you got but I got much slower Athlon XP 1800+ and 512Mb RAM.

God good .. with your CPU you should be getting a lot higher I would think. I just have my nice little OC'ed XP2800 (see sig) and I get 5010 on Mark05 so I would think you would do more than just 300 better. Im also using the XG 67.66a's Quality if that helps.

That is right on the mark for a non-overclocked rig with your CPU. Crank your card up to 450/1250 and you should see 6000.

I wasn't able to put the RAM to 1250 in Coolbits passing the test so I settled for 453/1220 and it only made a 90 point gain. I'm running an AGP Aperture Size of 128MB, Fast Writes Disabled, and NV/ATI SpeedUp on Auto. I haven't cracked the 5400 mark with this rig, is there something wrong?

I just tried that, and it made it worse. So I have no clue what to do next. I had practically the same score with my P4 3.0ghz with the same video card, and I've come to the understanding that the FX-55 is slightly more powerful. :afro:

You wont see much difference in scores in 3DMK05 by upgrading your CPU because 3DMK05 is mainly a video card test, it's a lot different with 3DMK03 and 3DMK01. When i upgraded from a xp3200+ to a 64 3500+ this is how my scores changed:

3DMK05: 4,856====>4,864 (basically no change)

3DMK03: 11,399====>12,118

3DMK01: 18,151====>22,685

AquaMK3: 53,775====>64,995

All those benchmarks were done with stock clock speeds and default driver settings(driver ver = 67.03) and with the freeware versions of the software.

Agreed, there shouldn't be a huge change but isn't 5300 extremely low for my configuration?

Honestly .. who cares about benchmark scores ... ask yourself this.... do you get high FPS and great performace in games? If you awnsered yes.... then all is good!

True enough sniperman. Good point. However, I installed 71.40 drivers and overclocked my video card up to 450/1220 and got a new score 5724. So basically I got a 500 point gain by changing drivers. Feeling much better now knowing that my system isn't defected. :D :D :D

Well that score looks to be pretty well right, with my card clocked at 430/1200 and using the 71.40 drivers my 3DMK05 score is 5,509. pic (http://img197.exs.cx/img197/687/7140s8ub.jpg)

No.. Considering your GPU is at 400/1100, it's more than enough. I get 5477 with my GPU at 430/1200.. People should know that 3DMark2005 as well as 2003 are almost completely GPU dependant. Having the video card at 450 core instead of at 400 will make the difference of 1000 points.

Granted, 3Dmark is all GPU. I should keep that in mind for the future. Just FYI though, my XFX came 425/1200 out of the box :P.

Yeah, so after looking at all the other replies your score does look a little on the low side, btw what clock speeds does your BFG run at ?
