There are always going to be examples of those who can't, regardless of brand. From what I understand and have read, the probability of getting a locked Asus card is somewhat less than others. But your odds of success are still not going to be anywhere near 100 percent.

Edit: Had to change my wording to what I really meant to say.

HEhe, this has been discussed b4. dont count on it. ive run into this conclusion on probability of modding.
Its in a particular batch of cards, wich are capable of modding. all the cards of the same brand sont mod succesfully.
AGAIn, cards form the same batch do have exceptions.
the probablity of succesfull modding of the 6800->68GT is somewhat around 5%.
no1 wuld take a risk!

I think its much higher than that. but then there is no way to know for sure until you try.

I think the 6800ge is a nice buy even if it can't be modded.

Another thing to keep in mind is that a lot of people have been successful in getting the card to unlock, but in the process they lost any ability to overclock it.

My card had broken pipelines, only the VS was fully operational.

if you OC a 6800 NU you can get like 10000 in 3DMark03 anyway with 12 pipes
