Finally got my sli rig here, but nothing seems to work as it should do :(

Here are my specs;

MSI K8N Diamond sli
2x MSI 6800GT
Corsair 1gig cl2
a64 3500+
psu - enermax 600W

Everything runs at stock speeds. The problem is, i got issues like THIS (http://www.gamepc.com/labs/view_content.asp?id=a8nsli&page=5), thats why i cant take shots. All non-sli games run perfect. Cards have latest bios.

I have no idea what to do now. Is it the cards? The mobo?

Any suggestions? :(

One card runs fine. In non-sli games everything is fine. It just appears in sli-games... kinda strange :/

Seems to be an CRT issue. On LCD//TFT it should be fine, thats why all LCD//TFT user dun have those issues...

Anyone running two 6800gts in SLI with a CRT without those issues?

You might try Nvidias beta drivers. The 66.93 have some problems especially with Source(HL2) games.

I'm using the 67.66s with better results.

Hi,

That is because the bios on one or both of the videocards is not the right one you will have to see if msi has the right one for you to download. Check also how your SLi connector is connected. Make sure J1 is the primary card and J2 is the secondary card.

Both cards have 5.40.02.30.03 which is the latest msi bios. And Sli connector is fitted proberbly. Sli runs. I get high fps and 8500 3dmarks05 without oc, but still those display issues.

The strange thing is, that i cant take shots. Everything is displayed fine on the shots. But not on the screen :/

Interesting,

Check this: http://www.nzone.com/object/nzone_sli_certified.html

They are not certified -

That is your problem, someone else I new had this problem. It was a combination of not having the right bios on the cards and not being certified.

you sure about that? im thinkin that site isnt fully updated. my 6600gt isnt listed but has nvidia multi gpu sli ready all over the box (nvidia logos, not gigabyte ones)

edit: post 200 go me! hehe

I am just going by Nvidia's site, I bought everything they said to buy off the list and have not had a problem. I would replace the cards with cards that are certified of the list. Why take a chance? It is way too much money to screw around with.

Congrats on the 200 post

Anyone knows if two Leadtek 6800gts will fit into the k8n Diamond? Too hard to get BGF or XFX Cars here in Germany so the Leadteks would be my last chance i think :/

If the model is # WinFast PX6800 GT - you are at least certified. That is a start.

Ya, thats the card. But theyre 2slot and the Diamond has just little space between the pcix slots so im not sure if two cards would fit...

The XFX are actually pretty good, I am using those in my office test machine at work and they run very well, and are alot cheaper.

Hey Veger. I was curious about your XFX clock speeds. I noticed in your sig that yours are clocked @325/1000. My clock speeds were 350/1000 out of the box. Just wondering if you underclocked them for some reason.

Check this out and play around with the Alternate Frame Rendering (AFR) or Split Frame Rendering (SFR).
