Well I got some info from a source... NV48s maybe here soon-ish.

Rumours are, 6 quad (24 pixel processing pipelines).
Extra helper shading units for each pxel processing pipeline?
More ROPs
New Video Proccessor (expected)
and..perhaps the most speculative and interesting point....new memroy interface....maybe XDR?

take it with a pinch of salt. ;)

i think it will be a new process, I dunno if that will help them with the power consumption / heat dissipation or not.

Why not nForce4 2200 Pro chipset powered motherboard? ;)

Edit: yeah I am blind...I thought the chipset on that mobo was em..AMD and not nv ones! :p

- Slot3 PCI-E x16 from nForce™ Prof. 2050
• Two independent 64-bit PCI-X buses
- Slot 4 & 5: PCI-X 100 MHz max. (Bridge B)
- Slot 6: PCI-X 133 MHz max. (Bridge A)
• One 32-bit 33MHz PCI v2.3 (Slot 2)

its both 2200 and 2050 at the same time heheheh this board makes my mouth water .... :afraid:

muya, so i guess if your source is right the nv48 taped out already ?? and also did you see my post on ps3 working and shown in march ... if that is true then the nv50 dirivative taped out also .... wow nvidia is really busy with the tape outs

MUYA

well he is talking as if it's there ..I mean taped out. I cannot be 100%..it might be hogwash since no others (websites or forums) have mentioned this before but, this source was right with nv4x and r4xx :)

More ROPs

What's ROP?

stands for Render Outputs, this is where all the the tasks on the pixels takes place, color compression, blending, etc.

More ROPs will increase performance by the ability to render more pixels at ones or do more operations at once. It varies depending on which operations are being done, I think if I remember correctly, each ROP can do 1/2 pixel blend, 1 full z pixel

This (that Tyan mobo) is meant for the server (not consumer) market.
