sexy, it was on sale w/ rebate @ compusa .

My only problem with it is the ATX power cable is a bitch to bend around, it feels like it could snap a mobo in 2...
it was funny to see how quiet everything is with the 4 case fans unplugged.

How is it?? I've seen alot of reviews for the Xconnect Ultra, most raving how good it is... On this forum however alot say its a very poor supply. I've been trying to decided between one of these and an OCZ Powersupply, which is next to impossible to find in Australia. The XConnects on the other hand are popping up all over the place.

Its so far so good, But i have no idea how to tell how good it is haha. Everything stays stable on that MSI center thing. I had a problem with my Antec 350w cutting out on me so I had to replace it and this thing called to me like a siren.

I have one also and I like it. I have heard nothing but good things from it. Most here are Antec fans, with good reason but I just had to get the Ultra X. :D

I did not like how loose the connections on the PSU side were. I was limited for space and the bend combined with the inflexible mobo line made using the X-Connect impossible as the cable kept unseating.

If i had a bigger rig, no doubt I would give it another shot.

No problems here.
I've had mine for going on 3 months.
It's the most stable unit to date for me. :)

I've saw a few post where some have had problems.
But with any product there are going to be good
and bad parts.

But it seems for the most part everyone loves there's. :)
I know I do. My rig is more stable than with my old Antec Trueblue 480.
Not only does the PSU look bad@ss it's performance is great to. :D

Hmmm, I may look into replacing my Antec 350 with one, I wonder how the UV reactive ones look. It sucks the place with exclusive rights to the Xconnect series in the whole of Australia is over 1000km away. Postage is gonna be a smack in the mouth

Dude, that looks sweet ass sweet, that would look mad with my water cooling setup, as its tubing glows a spooky purple/blue colour.

My 500w UV Blue Ultra X-connect just came. Time to put this sexy thing in the case but it looks so nice just sitting here. Should look even better lit up ;). I bought a couple rounded blue UV IDE cables too. I'll get some pics one day if I get a decent cam.

Update: Installed. 2 words, "Holy Crap" (in a good way).
If I can't control myself, a new litter of baby x-connects will be available on the For Sale/Trade forums in a few months.

I have a Antec true power 430w in my main rig but bought and changed to the x-connect 500w titanium (based on reviews, the removable cables which in my other rig, an antec super lanboy are really handy, and its appearance). I ran it for about a week in my rig and monitored its power levels with the DFI hardware monitor. It seems fine but honestly, my rigs internal temp is about 5-6C higher with the ultra and it is quite a bit louder than the antec. I switched the two p/s between my two systems and my case temp dropped back to prior levels and was "much" quieter so its safe to say that its a good p/s from a power perspective but definitely louder and much hotter (even though it operates on a push/pull airflow)

Hmm. As far as sound goes, mine makes almost no noise at all. I couldn't even hear the 2 80mm fans unless I put my ear to the back and that was with my case open (I have dog ears too. Long story involving a dog and gamma radiation But that's another post). The only thing I can hear is the dual fans on my video card. I'm not saying it's not true that yours is indeed loud, but it's just strange how some seem to be quiet and others of the same model are loud.

Tiermann, have you tried an antec truepower? Now its nowhere as slick as the ultra but quality wise its rated tops. The thing is built like a tank with about a mille of wires hanging off it. Its power scales are rock solid and it makes very little noise (but the x-connect is prettier)

mine is silent, the only thing i hear in my case is the 100mm on the back and the 68oogt stock fan

No, I havn't tried an antec yet. That was my second choice to the ultra. If it had made any noise in my case I would have sent it back and got the antec though. My uptime right now is 2 days and counting and so far I still can't hear one of it's fans or any vibrations. I'm anal about noise too.

Next upgrade on my g/f's computer I'll check out the antec truepower though.

the only thing i don't like about my Xconnect is the fact that the exhaust fans don't really exhaust much.. i can see them spinning but they don't really put out anything..

which forced me to put in a secondary exhaust fan (and thus pretty much eliminates the noice reduction of the PSU)..

that dont sound like its working correctly

My antec doesn't exhaust a lot either...quiet operatiosns more heat tolerance within the PSU itself..methinks

Perhaps its exhausting as much as it can?? If you put another intake fan in it might exhaust more
