From Mavke's site...

Hi!
I have good news to you all!
I have just found out how to activate the temperature monitoring in NVIDIA BIOS.

Just open your BIOS file with an HEX editor. Search for the following sequence:

10 0A 01 11

(there should be only one sequence maching this)

change it to:

00 0A 01 01

It worked with my XFX GeForce 6600 GT AGP. Might also work with other cards!

I have edited Prolink, XFX and Galaxy 6600 GT AGP BIOSes this way. It worked for them all! I am now using the Galaxy BIOS on my XFX card.

The temp limit is set to 145 ēC! Didn´nt found how to change this yet!

Do not responsabilize me if something goes wrong!

Good luck!

Well done!

I expect that it won't work with all cards though, simply because some manufacturers want to save a few pennies by omitting the handfull of off chip components required to calibrate the GPU core's thermal diode.

wait wait wait, does that mean the non standard temp. monitor cards like the ASUS and Gigabyte can take benefit of this too ?

Prob should edit your first post to make it more obvious... before some people have non-functioning cards
