I know I saw this in this forum before...but I can't find the thread that covered it....This damn pop-up randomly shows up on my system and I can't locate it in the registry...

Please help!!!

You have to disable the window messenger service (not the Windows Messenger IM program)

And I would block out your IP address in that pic

Thanks for posting that pelly. I was going to put up a link to the image i captured when it happened to me (i started the original thread), only to find out Cox.net has managed to bugger my personal webspace...AGAIN! I am #48 in line to have my questions answered...yAy :(

Go into the Control Panel to Administrative Tools...then go to the Services applet and find Messenger, double click and choose disabled.

Right-click My Computer, manage, services & applications, services, scroll down to "Messenger," stop service if it's running, right click on Messenger, properties, set startup type to disabled and you be done.

Edit: Damn j00 netviper, if I hadn't been disconnected I would have beaten you to it. :p :D

Good I know someone can now help me :p Samething but in French ;) As Im still learning french, I sometimes need help with what to look for in my WinXP, I was wondering if the service I should be disactivating is "Affichage des messages" ? as I cant find a service just called messanger!
