Nice work John! :)
Nice job editing, Clay! You helped me make sense! :p
:)
Once again I must mention that this card is SO good for it's price category. It completely outclassed and embarassed my 2 other cards (5700Ultra and 5800Ultra) so much that it wasn't even worth putting compare numbers in.

Nice job Clay considering the time constraints you were under. Way to turn it around.
This Bfg lifetime warranty thingy does it mean that if the card breaks in ten years time i will get a replacement? Not that id use it for ten years. Just wondering

In the first paragraph of the review John gives a link to their warranty http://www.bfgtech.com/tech_redux.html
If you meet the criteria they state then it should be covered under the warranty. :)

for comparison i ran the hl2 stress tests and doom3 benches at 1280x1024 71.25 drivers, quality image setting, with 2x fsaa, and 16x ansio. i know its a pcie machine (although that really doesnt mean much yet) but its still somethin to compare w/ i guess. (yeah i was this bored tonight lol)
anyway
ran each test 3 times then averaged the 3.
hl2 stress test
72.17
doom3 (high quality)
42.3
ill download 3dmark tonight and give that a run as well.

I used "Quality" throughout, and used ATuner to switch the AA and AF modes. I also clicked off the checkbox denoting "reduce trilinear quality" in the "direct3D extra" and "OpenGL extra" tabs in ATuner.
emailthatguy, is your 3000+ overclocked? Thanks btw for the compare #'s.

nope running stock clocks on the 3000
the 6600gt is running at 526/1032
ill grab atuner right quick and see if that makes much of a difference w/ the reduce thingy

Good review. Did BFG send you a doctored up version of the card. I bought a retail version and had lots of trouble right from the start. BFG sent me out a new one and it over heats on BFV city levels. I decided to investigate and found a mound of thermal grease on the chip it was a mess. The refernece heat sink did not touch the chip it stands off and relies on the thermal compound to transfer the heat. This was a upgrade from a 9800 pro that i have never had a problem with. FYI for the guys having problems with pexilation or white triangles delete the gart drivers and call BFG they will help you out. Signed a descent Guy that had a bad week with a video card.

Hey BTW, When i mean a mound a giant glob not a smooth application.
3000+ AMD64 Newcastle
ASUS K8V SE Deluxe
BFG OC stock 525/1050 GF 6600GT
1024 mb ddr400
Raid 0 (2 x 160 gig Segate baracudes SATA)
480 Watt power
Antec gamers case
4 other machines: 2800+ AMD64, 2.8E P4, 2.3 Barton XP, 2.2 BartonXP. :D
All the other review samples I've seen of this card have had a very similar amount of thermal compound... That's too bad you've had issues. I've stressed this card heavily and it won't buckle.
