Hi!

I've a little question concerning my Geforce 2. As i can remeber, this board has GL-hardware acceleration available.

What do I have to do to enable it?

I installed Nvidia_kernel and nvidia_glx (and everything seems to run), but when i launch glxgears I get nearly 100% CPU-usage. This is not what I understand as hardware acceleration.
(around 1100 fps with original window size and 180fps in full-screen)

Am I wrong here? Thanks for your help!

I'm not sure about the 100% cpu usage but I think that it is working. On my system with out hardware acceleration I get almost 400fps in the windowed mode and with hardware acceration I get about 6000+ fps. However I am using a geforce 4 ti4400.

I know quake 3 is very cpu intensive even tho it is hardware accelerated. It might be that glxgears uses alot of cpu too.

make sure you're using the nvidia driver instead of the nv driver, in the "Device" section for your card. If you have

Driver "nv"

then while you have the glx installed and the kernel module, you aren't actually using the nvidia accelerated x driver, you're using the opensource driver for nvidia cards, you need to have

Driver "nvidia"

just my 2 cents.

Thanks for your hints, but I'e everything done like this. The nvidia-driver is definitively used.

The only thing I wonder about is the 100% CPU-usage.
