They're all based off the reference design and they're clocked pretty much the same, either 400/1100 or 425/1100 for the Ultra or 350/1000 for the GT.

Brands are good for diferent cooling solutions, the packaging (free games), or warranty. Usually they all equal out, the ones with reference cooling cost less, the ones with more games and such cost a little more. Also if you want to overclock lets say, you might want to get a card like Gainward's golden sample which are cards tested by gainward for good quality and good overclock potential... So ye there can be a quality diference, although each card is diferent so you can buy the cheapest card and it might overclock higher than the most expensive one...

My XFX runs at 425/1200 default. Is it a deviation or something? :eek:

Do you have the auto overclock for the video card off in the BIOS?
It makes my GT default to 395/1.07

eVGA has the great step-up program that gives you 90 days to upgrade whatever card you bought to the next up for whatever the difference between your current card and the next one up is. So:

GT = $400
Ultra = $500

Buy a GT and a month later decide you want an Ultra? Pay $100 and you send back the GT, get an Ultra and there you go.

OMG yes, what a nightmare THAT POS was. It took my card to 454/1280 and I got BSODs and Artifacts up the wazoo. It took me 2 weeks to figure out my card didn't go sour, it was the wonderful bios. So yeah, it's running at complete stock.

No that isn't a deviation. My XFX Ultra also came clocked at 425/1200. I think most ultras that come with a 425 core have 1200 on the memory.

XFX's dont come pre-overclocked anymore. (i guess they figd. out wy fried cards wer getting back to them pretty soon. :) )

pre o/cd cards of BFG & gainward's GS, GALAXY(with nv silencer) are the best. (Gainward are hell Loud!)
