No idea...but why don't you use DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter...those programs both rock and are free. I've never had a problem with single layer discs so I can't imagine you having any problems with double-layer discs.

it does make a perfect dvd 9 copy of it, although id use decrypter and shrink just dont shrink it. That way you get the encoding on it completely stripped which makes it easier to copy/play in most cases.

I just bought a dvd-rewriter and was wondering what the best software to copy dvd's might be? Looks as if you two recommend decryptor and shrink. What about Alcohol 120%, Nero Express, Nero BackItUp, InCD or PowerProducer Gold? I'd like to make perfect copies to play in a dvd player for tv.

Unless you are burning to a dual-layer media, it is not possible to make an exact bit-for-bit copy of a DVD. This is because standard movie DVDs are dual-layer, and thus occupy far more space than your standard DVD+-R/RW disk can hold.

To be picky about it... You can make an exact bit-for-bit copy of a DVD5. Only DVD9 require dual layer media. I have many DVD movies (Caddyshack for instance) that are only 4.7GB.

DVDDecrypter can take an ISO and burn a copy of these. Easy. :)

Alcohol 120% is great, but costs like $50 or something... DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter work just as well (if not better) and are FREE.

Another vote for DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink - they are great..

But at $10 a pop for for a dual layer DVD. you might as well spring the extra few bux an buy another copy as a backup.. ;)

I don't have dual-layer media yet, but my dvd-rw is capable. Someday I guess. Thanks for the info. I have Alcohol 120% already.
