How well does the 5950 play HL2???

On leave from Iraq and am currently downloading HL2. Does it run OK with a 5950??? Gonna purchase a 6800GT in a few days but for now just wanted to know how well it would work with what I have. Thanx!! :D

It should run fine, however, I believe the game will be forced to DX8.1 mode, which is lower quality than DX9 mode.

Card is OK. But what about your CPU and RAM ?

Running an AMD64 3200 and have over a gig of DDR ram running at 400MHZ

That should be fine, get the water reflection patch for DX8 cards and you should be set. :)

I ran it 1600x1200 no AA/AF, trilinear, in-game settings at high with no problems. As stated it ran in DX8.1.
