MX 500....MX 510....MX518.....Can anyone ever notice a difference between them, besides the fact that one looks cooler than the other. I've owned all those mice, in addition to my MX1000 and I honestly did not notice any significant difference besides the fact of the MX1000 being able to work on any surface. More of a marketing gimmick to me rather than an actual performance upgrade. But hell, for gamers it's always an essential upgrade :p

Nice. I really don't know if I should choose this over the DiamondBack.

Is there a compelling reason to switch to this from a 510?

I think difference will be huge (unlike MX500 -> MX510) - 1000Hz, 1600DPI (both stable, I hope), 16bit datapath (or is it 12bit?), new sensor, probably a new lens too.

I really hope they will the fix negative and positive acceleration and give us true 1:1 ratio. Better drivers will be great too.

If all of this will eventually turns out false, i'll go Razer Diamondback.

If it's just these improvements alone I'll probably switch. I personally prefer the look and feel of the MX510 style over the Diamondback. The contours feel more natural to me.

I like the finish on it. I'm happy with my mx1000 though.
