i want to upgrade my computer and i come across two routes .
1st a 3500 amd with 2x 6800 gt sli , 2 x 512 patriot , 1 x 200 giga matrox diamondMax 10 , audigy z.s , ocz powerstream 520 watts , a8n sli deluxe , nec 3520 d , in a thermaltake tsunami case that system cost me about 2224 euros
or the second choice fx 55 with 1 6800 gt the same settings as above. 2385
my thougt its its the difference between the fx 55 and the 3500 really big , cuz the price difference between the 2 processor its like 500 euros or more .
i want a pc so it can last me for at least 3 years
if u guys had the choice what u would be your choice and why ?
or if any of u guys have similars systems can post your benchies to see more and less the difference in terms of gaming and so on
many thanks

If you want something that's going to last, go with the FX-55. That way you can save your money to later invest in a second video card.
And as a nickel's worth of free advice, type out you. Internet shorthand makes you look stupid.

ok sorry for typing u i was kinda in a hurry , i was thinking the same way since a investment on a better cpu would last a bit longer .
regarding the graphics card i think it wont loose much performance regarding 2 x 6800 gt in a 3500 , and the fx 55 with only one , and it gives more of a upgrade path too ,like if i got one 6800 gt i could always replace it with a better graphics in the near future , the processor i think it will last for a long time so in the end i think its worth the money.
the problem its the price of the fx 55 overhere damn expensive. :(
one thing i want to ask too do you think if i put a better cooling on it will be better , i was thinking of a zalman or a thermaltake instead of the default cooler.

No worries bro. At least you're fixing it, and it is much appreciated. I apologize if it sounded harsh, but I get so damn sick of people doing it. I would rail on anyone the same way. :)

This is something I will not stress enough, any sort of aftermarket CPU cooler will be more effective than the stock AMD one. While idle temps may not reflect it, there is a huge difference under load. With the stock cooler, my 3500+ would get upwards of 55 at load. I switched to a Thermaltake Silent Boost K8 (not the absolute greatest A64 cooler but it was on sale) and now my load temps rarely go above 43. Quite a big difference I'd say. :)

what cooler you recomend for the fx- 55 thermaltake or zalman?

Zalmans take a bit more time to install, but they should offer probably slightly better cooling. Make sure you get the all copper unit instead of the copper/aluminum one. Aluminum doesn't conduct heat as well, though I'm sure you already knew that. ;)
I only bought the Thermaltake because 1) it was on sale and 2) it was easy to install. If I had the time, patience and money, I probably would have bought the Zalman.

I love my Zalman 7000cu. I've used it for years now and it's great. I wouldn't recommend it for any extreme overclocking or anything but it's better than the stock cooler and looks tre cool to boot. :)

not planning on extreme overclocking , i dont know how to overclock so i dont want to mess with such an expensive cpu.
Its more for keeping things cool , riptide you got the case i want to know what you think about in terms of cooling and noise ?
Do you have the windowed tsunami or the normal one .
Another thing its that i dont want too much noise its the zalman "quiet" ,but probably with the 6800 gt in the background i wont heard it
the zalman allready as the thermal paste doesnt it ? or do i have to buy it separetly and the zalman comes ready to install rigt
