Can someone with a 6800 Ultra tell me what the best/most stable drivers are for HL2? I also can't play mpg files for some reason or else explorer crashes. If I even click an mpg files name in explorer, the operating system says **** you Im shutting down and crashes. My screen also goes black for a few seconds if certain windows pop up (e.g., the files save as dialog). Also, what is a safe overclock speed? I have an alienware Area 51 with 2 gigs of ram and an fx53.

There's a driver section for this....everyone's system is different, you do sound like you need to change drivers, but go based on your system. Download a few sets and see what works best.

What are your current drivers that are causing the crashes ? i have similar problem with the 71.24 .

as for best drivers for HL2 .. i used the 61.77 & never had a single problem with them . i didnt try HL2 with the newer ones though .

A little off topic here, but man you do have an insane overcklock to your 6800 Ultra, you must be very happy.

LoL... I SO saw that one coming :p We need a sticky that says "Stop making threads about what drives are the best". :) Trial and error people... trial and error!!!!!!!

hahaha...yeah, but still...how about we institute an auto-ban feature that will ban you if a thread containing the words "what are the best drivers for x" is created? :p

Thanks. And yes i bought this as a keeper. I got it with warranted 450/1200 on the stock cooler.
Actually i think it could do even more. I just didn't dare to go further yet. The 470mhz are 100% artifactfree and stable in any bench and game though.

It's my last AGP card and i just build an AGP system so this has to last for a while.
I run the card at 450/1200 24/7 and that's more power than i need allready. ;)

Back on topic: I hear the 71.81 don't have the temperature bug anymore and no yellow water. Probably those are the drivers to go for. (Haven't tested them myself yet.)

I like the 71.81 the best so far but I hate the bug with the flickering when hitting the advance and the geforce 6800 ultra ,even though checking the force TV detection seems to help,I just hope this bug is fixed with the next drivers.

What watercooling gear are you using to cool your 6800 Ultra? Also, what is your 3DMark05 v1.20 score? If you don't mind, could you send me the link to the FutureMark Orb score?

BTW, 470mhz on the core is really amazing. GJ. :D

Thats awesome man. I too hope that I won't be forced to upgrade for a while.
