I've had my S750 speakers for a while. I've set the volume settings how I like them. I've noticed that if they are unplugged, the power goes off and they forget all of my settings. So I leave them plugged in all the time. When I'm not using them I put them into standby mode.

However, often I find that when I switch them on from standby mode, the speakers switch on and then go straight back into standby mode again. When this happens, all my settings are once again lost. Has/does anyone else have this problem? Its driving me mad.

I would leave the speakers switched on 24/7 but am worried that it might do them more damage, plus I can't imagine it'd be cheap leaving 700 watts of speakers switched on. I have checked all the connections about 5 times now and can't see anything wrong.

I leave mine turned on 24/7 unless I actually turns off my pc, and I havent had any problems. Ive had my set since around April 2004 :)

Thanks Smokey, I'm going to do the same and leave mine on 24/7 from now on. I guess its got to be better than the stress they go through every time I switch them on/off.

I also emailed Creative tech support... their rather uninspiring response was for me to unplug them when I'm not using them... which loses all my settings anyway so kind of defeats the point... oh well.

Just an FYI, they won't be drawing 700Watts of power necessarily ever. 700Watts is the rated output for the speakers, not the draw from the wall. It is also the maximum output, so when not making any sound at all, the output should be very close to 0Watts.

Its usualy better to leave amplifiers on 24/7 anyway vs cooling down and warming up all the time...
