Here is what I just ordered for my new build up.
1. AMD FX55
2. Patriot PC3200 (low latency) 2GB dual channel kit 2x1gb sticks
3. BFG 6800ULTRA PCIE (only 1 for now)
4. ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe
The rest of the computer will contain these Items that I already have
Two WD raptors (in a raid 0 config), 1 Maxtor 160GB HDD, antec 550 true power, etc.......
So will this new rig PLAY HL2 will some good FPS?
as winamp sais: it will prolly kick the llamas ass.
Performance should be topnotch.
Price/performance ratio would prolly suck balls, but hey if you can afford it why not? hehe

I cant believe people spend around $1000 on an FX-55 :p
But that is a really nice system, hope it all works out for you.

Dude you are 1337 for buying an FX-55 :) Though I have heard many a bad stories on the Asus A8N, for example our buddy JakUp Here's just crapped out on him, did you not learn from his lesson?? :D Congrats on the new build, it should own.
BTW, why did you go with the Patriot memory out of curiosity?

I went with patiot memory for the price/ performance. They have good timings, and 450.00 for a dual channel 2GB kit, I couldn't pass that up. The timings are 2-3-2-5, i thought that was good.
