Came across this at Driverheaven, very intresting indeed, that is an awesome score.

40k in '01, ddr2 @ 800mhz, 1240fsb, 8k Sandra Bandwidth... heck, shouldn't a 5700 Ultra be able to hit 40k in a setup like that? :p:p

I think it's a CPU he's testing. 3dmark01 is much more CPU dependent than 03/05. To get such a huge increase in that bench leads me to think CPU.

3DM01 record is 42xxx, done with a X800XT with 800/665(!!!) clocks.
If a single card, out of the box with no oc, will score 40+K, then i think this is very promising. :D

I don't think only adding extra (and faster) Ram will gain a 3DM01 score thát much. ;)

According to Zardon it has nothing to do with current gen card with 512 MB.
The inquirer posted a story about a 512 card from ATI being released soon and pointed to this site and this thread, im just saying that these tests have nothing to do with a currently available GFX technology with additional ram.
So everyone who thought it was an X850XT PE with 512MB take a second guess please. And he did say it was running on stock cooling. :cool:

Do we even know it's a video card? Seriously, what's more likely to give you an increase in 3dmark01 performance? Video card or CPU? I say the latter.

What's the big deal about some new CPU? If I wanted benchmarks, I'd go to PCPer's new review of the P4 660 and 3.73EE.
Also, for all I know, that 3DMark2001 bench could've been run at 640x480.

Hmmm let me think.... ATI will show it off on at this weekend, I read somewhere that ATI will show off R520 on 25th Feb, I guess the date push back by 1 day.

Yes, I realised it going to be R520 when many forums I read hint that the card is not from current generation with 512Mb memory.

That would be nice then, man now I really want to see what Nvidia has to offer.
DH is a terrible site. I hate saying bad things about people, but they deserve it. Their mods, members, etc. is a whole joke. Meh, oh well.

ok well you dont suck, but some of them do :D Maybe I just don't like that site cuz thats the guy that banned me a while back, and alot of their mods are generally very rude, but well, we won't get into that right now :)
Anyways, why would this guy have the scoop on a new card, and nobody else?
