Does the Zalman 7000-Cu (CPU fan) fit with the thermanright NB-1C (Chipset fan) on the IC7-G Max II? I needed to get a new chipset fan because my stock IC7-G just stopped working.

do you mean you just want to take the fan off the 7000-Cu and use it on the NB-1C? I dont think the fan can be used on anything but the 7000-cu itself, i just got one today ill check it out.

I think he means will the two Heatsink/fan combos fit on the board together... I'm pretty sure they should. I'm pretty sure one of my mates has a similar setup, I myself would think about a passive Zalman chipset cooler as the CPU fan should create enough air flow around the chipset sink, plus its silent and in my experience, its the chipset fan that accounts for alot of noise in a system.

isnt that overkill for a chipset

No, he wants the thermalright on the northbridge chipset...for overclocking..which is bigegr than standard size and is worried the 7000CU won't fit next to it etc.
