Who was 8 yrs old like me when they saw this movie? I love this movie and was glad it came out on DVD cause now I can enjoy it with my kids. Every review I see hates it! AM I the only HUGE Black Hole fan in the world left? John Barry's score is just awesome to listen to. It might be a bit cheesy and corny, but the fun and memories, and the awesome soundtrack, still keep this as one of my favs of all time, along with Battlestar Galactica and Battle Beyond the Stars.
Speak up Black Hole fans. :-)

I loved that movie, although I just whatched once :( . I was 10 or 11. But I think it was one of the best sci-fi I have seen. I think it was even better than Star Wars IV and Tron

Recently I bought the book ! :)

LOL! looks like we have a bunch of 30 somethings here. I was 8 also but Star Wars blew me away and at that time I was into Battlestar Glatica. I loved that damn robo dog and the hot dog pilot Starbuck. Ever notice when you see them racing through space it is always the same scene?:D Also I'm not sure if it is a good idea to identify your self as a "black hole fan". ;)

Geez, I was 18 when that movie came out. I saw it opening night with my RPG gang. Afterwards we all sat around a Perkins until the wee hours and critiqued the allegory and innuendo. I can remember recognizing references to Dante's Inferno and Neitzche (his last words "more light," as were the villain's).

I may have to get the DVD just to see how full of it we were back then.

Oh yeah, I also remember the robot using his buzz saw on the scientist through the clipboard. That scene was pretty graphic for 1979.

Hehe.... black hole :)

Personally I never really enjoyed it, but someone mentioned Battlestar Galactica, and thats something I do enjoy!...

Right now I have a little "Cylon theme" on my computer at the office.. A Baseship as desktop background, and some Cylon sounds... allways good to hear your computer say "By your Command" in that cool Cylon voice every time you boot up.. :)

Ah... I remember The Black Hole. I actually saw it a few months ago on TV, it was nice seeing it again.

Now BSG... I've only seen that in rerun on the Scifi Channel... and I never could stand that show :o

Hell yeah, they need to make a bionic man game, maybe against the fembots and that tank that wouldn't die. Get jamie sommers in there too for co-op play.

I always wanted my own personal V.I.N.Cent when I was a kid.

By the way, I saw Erin Gray at a convention this year, and all I can say is that I hope I look that good when I'M 53.

its this the one where the main bad guy gets stuck inside the black hole in the end in some kind of a suit or something? if it is then it was a pretty darn good movie

I see someone has dug up this old sci-fi thread.. cool. :)

I have heard rumors of a remaking of Battlestar Galactica, and that Starbuck will be a woman this time around?... anyone know if this is true?..

They better not change the Cylons' voices too much!...

I still have "By your command" as start windows sound and "It will be done, Imperious leader." as shutdown sound.. :)
