"Intel has countered first by getting its manufacturing back in line and secondly by coming out with a whole new family of chips about as good as AMD," Whittington said.

 yeah right. I'm an Intel fanboy and even I don't see a whole new family of chips about as good as AMD.

The only department the new P4 6xx falls short
on is gaming.
Well if you call 100+fsp is gaming short. "lol"
Bottom line is AMD is faster in gaming. Hands down.
But both Intels and AMD's newest chips push any game
to super high FPS with the right video card.

I think the 6xx line will do well for intel.
When they figure out how to get the heat
under contol things will be much better.

As for me I'm going dual core as soon
as I can get my hands on one. "lol"

Dual core cpu SLI Gen2 baby!!

AMD is faster but all kind of crap you're getting with AMD system which is not worth of any penny....

P4 a little slower, but much more stable...

I have been with AMD since Tbred 1.2ghz and now I have a FX53 now! Smooth sailing. After SP2 upgrade I have had 1 (and only 1) problem and that was with DEP which I disabled. After that everything in SP2 runs fine and dandy!

I do not expect flame baits etc in here. Next one I see i will delete and serve a warning.

I've found the P4 systems to be VERY stable.
I do not get BSOD like some.

Now i am even more confused, with Intel coming into 64Bit action.
I was all set to giv away mi intel system, all because of the HEAT, and The INSANELY Loud Fan-speed (5400rpm On Load) :(

1 question, wat is EM64T (extended memory). any details about its performnace compared to the Athlon 64Bit. i mean 3200+ (754) vs intel's 6xx 3.0/3.2 Ghz

The EMT64 is the same as AMD's X86-64 bit extensions.

Final Qstn:
Will these be Compatible?
ASUS P5P800 (I865PE) + P4 630 or 640 (775Pin)

Specs of the board (it supports 775pin cpu)
http://usa.asus.com/prog/spec.asp?m=P5P800&langs=09#

It says "Compatible with Intel 04B and 04A processors"
so wats this 04b and 04a?

Selecting this board because, this is the only board with AGP8X. i have the Leadtek a400gt (6800GT) AGP8X.
