Looking for 80GB or bigger, 8MB cache is preferred. USB 2.0 or firewire. USB would be preferred tho. Price wise, anything 150 or lower. More if I have to.

Newegg.com got big selection , can find prolly better to , quick look.

I like this one personaly the size of Floppy drive or close Mini HDD (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=22-161-623&depa=0) to bad they out.

Thats what i have done, cheaper than most pre-packaged and you can swap the drive out for something bigger whenever you want. Perfect if you have an old HD lying around and want to use it for something.

Be careful about making your own. I just tried to make one and it didn't work, and best I can figure is that the drive (that I picked) requires too much power. Of course you can get less demanding drive and it should work, but just make sure that you don't balls out and hit a wall like I did.

Power requirements shouldn't be an issue if you're able to find an enclosure which has its own power supply. Something like this (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=17-173-003&depa=0) should work. It has both USB and Firewire connections.

Thanks for the suggestions guys but I have all ready ordered a WD 160GB IDE drive with a Kingwin MS-350U-BK external enclosure. Should be here tuesday or wed. THanks again!
