And people laughed at me when I said there is R&D already for a newer PSP
This might not be true or not..but it does sound like something Sony would do.

Rumored but no chance, Sony stated that they have no intentions to change the PSPs specs.
EDIT: Stop going to crappy sites that just spread rumors without getting anything from the company...

and you dont think sony paid off gamespot to deny it?
Of course Sony would not want that to get out...because it would hurt their sales of the first gen PSP

You can literally get a 50 gig hard drive in a compact flash card. The problem though is that is hella expensive.

Because Sony isn't stupid, rereleasing the PSP with a 50GB HD would seperate thier market. Developers would be also split since some would want to make games for a system with a HD and others wont. It would kill the amount of software going towards the units.
Sony isn't dumb and I will bet $100 that they wont release a PSP with a 50GB HD in it. Sony also is known for not paying news orginizations off, hell it would be hard to pay of CNET (Owners of Gamespot).

Sony has made some really bad moves in the past.
I dont know if you recall a few years ago, where there was a big scandal with Sony Movie marketing dept....here is a link to one story i found
http://www.eonline.com/News/Items/0,1,8385,00.html
The news comes just days after Sony admitted it paid movie theaters to have The Animal preview run before hit movies, drawing flak from rival studios for violating a long-time industry rule of giving away trailers to exhibitors.
For its part, Sony immediately removed the manufactured blurbs from future print ads and launched its own investigation into the incident. Reps for the studio refused further comment pending the results of the internal investigation
The difference is Sony is big enough if they make mistakes like microsoft they can recover a lot easier then most other companies and in this world money talks, anything is possible.

So what Ghosthunter? If they were to come out with a revision, what is the problem with that? You seem to love Nintendo and they have came out with a million revisions (and judging by your new topic maybe another one). So it is ok for Nintendo but HEAVEN FORBID Sony add something useful!

They all fall under Sony...yes separate companies...but all answer to the big guys at Sony. My point is you beleive sony can never do anything wrong..I bet you feel the same about Microsoft.

Actually they dont, Unlike companies like Microsoft. Sony Companies have thier own board and CEOs. They are thier own company, just share stock and if Sony wants they could take control over SCE but dout thats gonna happen considering how well its doing.
And thier not working on a new PSP, Sony has stated that as a Fact. You say nothing more then rumors... never have any evidence to back your claims.

I actually know that... Some of us get information from other places rather then 3rd grade game sites that base rumors as facts...

It may be an external hard drive. Like some one stated the hard drives used in the Ipod and other Mp3 jukeboxes ar only an inch wide! The problem with having an internal HDD is that there is no space even for an inch wide HDD have read in various sources that PSP was so tightly designed, that the development team had to really pull a battery design out of their ass, in order for it to fit in the PSP.
The PSP has been out in japan for a while, It does not have a HDD, but it has a SD card slot and a USB port. I does not mean they can't design an external HDD wich can be larger than 1 inch thus reducing the cost significantly.
This is action that Sony could be taking since nintendo and panasonic is developing an mp3/mpeg 2/Mpeg 4 player for the DS and Game boy advanced. It will support a SD card like the PSP but will require a SD card reader/writer on your PC to upload the files to the card. The video playback feature will not be on par with the PSP, but with the compact folding design of the Game Boy Advanced SP combined with flawless mp3 playback can even replace standalone flash based mp3 players. Nintendo has not come up with a name for it yet, but they are aiming for a 40 dollar price range (include the cost of the SD card and the SD card reader if you don't have one already.)
For the PSP having a Hdd?
It's possible if it's external, but imposible internaly without drasticaly changing design.

The PSP doesn't support SD Cards, It uses Duo cards only. If an HD is made for the PSP, It will be 3rd Party and only be used for MP3's and Movies. Sony will make sure Developers don't use it for gaming since it could cause a seperation of market for them and be like an addon which rarely sell well.
I can see it now...PSP HDloader anyone? I dont think sony will allow a hd to be an addon.
