I've got two systems - RedHat Linux and WinXP - under RedHat I can set up 1400x1050x32bpp but under Windows I can't. Is it possible to do this under Windows, how?

Use PowerStrip. You CAN make any resolution with it. Its shareware though.

hm... how? :)
when I try to switch to 1400x1050 powerstrip wants to restart my computer - when I restart it, I still have old resolution, and when I try again switch to 1400x1050, it again asks me for restart... so... I give up - I don't know, what to do :(
but... thansk for advice!

You must do "user defined" resolution. DO NOT use that one that is predefined. Also make sure that PowerStrip starts automatically and it activates the customisations.
I haven't done this myself, so I don't know what could be the problem.
