Does changing the PCI Latency from 248 to 64 really helps? I lost a couple of FPS from doing this, and I didn't noticed any improvement in stuttering, smoothness or what so ever. So what will be the best value for a GT? will this affect OCing results?

Thanks in advance,
Hombre

I used this and noticed no FPS difference but it did allow me to run with Fastwrites on without having LONG pauses before entering a 3D App.

I believe 64 is optimal, I tried lower and it didn't do anything, higher aswell. 64 was the magic number. OCing was also not affected.

Thank you for your reply.
So your advice is to stay with 64?
Any other opinions?

Honestly, changing from 248 to 64 made my pausing much worse and I didnt notice any improvement anywhere else.

I changed mine on my 6800 ultra from 248 to 128 and I really can not tell no difference.

Welp the tweak stopped working for me, it was all fine but recently I had to remove it or I would get horrible artifacts with it set to 64 while I had fastwrite on.

A higher number can result in better graphics performance, but it is generally not recommended. The reason being, it could result in another device hogging the PCI bus for too long.

ok can someone please point out to me how changing the pci latency effects an agp card.

AGP is fundamentally a 66 MHz PCI bus

I've noticed that at 64 I can turn FW on without getting any random freezes, freezes occure while I'm at 248. The Overclock is high so it's good. So I'm taking it that using 64 with FW is better?

It all depends on your PC, It was good for me untill I suddenly started getting lock ups and artifacts, disabled the tweak and disabled FW and all was good again. I think it has to do with my OC on my board though... /shrug

When does these problems started to appear? Because I don't notice any!

When I switched to the 7.84 drivers, after that no matter what drivers I use it wont work anymore.

Using 71.84XG now, so far so good... what kind of artifacts were you getting?

One more question: What would be better - PCI @ 64 w/ FW on, or PCI @ 248 w/ FW off. Clocks are same.

Thanks!

Whatever works for you hombre. I think motherboard and video card clocks may have something to do with it all, but I cant put my finger on it. My system tends to run more 'right' with the video card at default, but why would I want to do that when I can get 410/1.1? Ive had the card clocked this high on other boards with FW on and no issues at all, it just wont do it on this board no matter what.

64 w/FW on...i've tried some similar settings and on my machine and FW give anywhere between 1-2% fps boost at high fps (100 - 200 fps range) to about 5% fps boost at lower fps (50-100 fps range).
