Microsoft may not be willing to talk file-system futures, but it is working
to back-port its future file-system technology to Windows XP. Mary Jo Foley
over at Microsoft Watch reports that WinFS is going to get the same Windows
XP back-port treatment as Avalon and Indigo. According to her sources,
Microsoft is already working on the back-port and is planning to provide an
update on the technology at this year's Professional Developers Conference
(PDC) in September.

well since the release date for m$'s cluster center server has been release i dont think ntfs (4 TB max) volumes can handle the amount of data storage that is often associated with high end clusters. im thinking we might see winfs or some sort of preview in the new cluster servers.

I sure hope it doesn't take 200MB of system memory like it does in Longhorn. If it does then they can keep it.
