I recently upgraded my system from a P4 3.0ghz system with an ASUS P4P800 Deluxe MB and an ASUS V9999 Gamers Edition to an AMD 64 FX 55 on an ASUS A8V Deluxe (AGP) with an eVGA Ultra Extreme edition. My cpu temperature was around 95 degrees idle and now with the AMD it runs at 125 degrees. My video card temp was running 100 degrees and now it's 120 degrees.

Is this to hot? What would be the normal operating temperature if it's not?

Are those temps in celsius? If so, those are some pretty high temps.

Your CPU temps should be around 40C~50C idle and 60C~80C load. It could vary but in that ballpark.

Your GPU should idle around 50C and load around 70C. Again, all could vary depending on case cooling, ambient room/case temps, etc.

If these temps are in celsius it seems strange to me that your system still works. CPU Temperature @ 95C...The CPU should already be dead.

Those temps are not in celsius. 51 celcius is the CPU and just a little under that for my GPU. That is just running hardware monitor in the BIOS so there really is no load.

Sounds like your temps are fine then. Definitely not too hot.
